Illinois is nearly ten months into the fiscal year without a budget in place, and one area State Senator hopes there is some movement on the issue when lawmakers return to Springfield this week. State Senator Sam McCann (R-Carlinville) tells The Big Z this stalemate has gone on too long, and it's time to fix things.

State representatives will return to Springfield Monday, and their counterparts in the Senate on Tuesday. According to the calendar on the state's website, there are 12 session days planned for the Senate in April.
