A marketing workshop geared toward Macoupin County businesses is coming up in a couple of weeks in Carlinville. Sponsored by the Macoupin Economic Development Partnership, this event is designed to introduce business owners to the possibilities afforded by attracting more tourists to their shops. It's called "How to Make the Traveler Stop, Shop & Buy."
The Partnership's Courtney Wood says one guest speaker will be Heather Wilkins, head of the Lincoln Regional Tourism Development Office. The topic: Fish Philosophy.
Also speaking that day will be Bill Kelly, Executive Director of the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway. The workshop will be held at the Carlinville National Bank Conference Room on Thursday, March 14 from 9am-1pm.
