In January, Godfrey hired the services of a marketing firm to help the village lure new business to town. North Star Destination Strategies has developed brands for more than 150 cities, regions, communities and municipalities nationwide, and is in the process of doing the same in Godfrey. The ultimate goal is to attract more businesses, residents and visitors to the area.
Monica Bristow, President of the Riverbend Growth Association, explains how the branding process works.
The 26-week program with North Star Destination Strategies will cost $76,000, which will come from the newly-created Business District Tax Fund.
