An education funding reform plan proposed last year is undergoing some changes in hopes of passage this legislative session. Democrat Senator Andy Manar of Bunker Hill says it's time to change the state's decades old system for handing out state education dollars, and put more money into our schools.

Manar introduced reform legislation last year that directed more money to the poorest districts in the state. But that meant wealthier districts took a hit in funding. He says he's made some tweaks to the bill to ease some of those concerns.
