A Jerseyville man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty in October of attempted sex trafficking of a minor and attempted enticement of a minor. 40-year-old Timothy S. Griesemer attempted to find a child so he could engage in sexual activity. The case began in October of last year when he sent a text message to a female acquaintance indicating he was looking for a minor child.
The woman contacted Jerseyville Police who enlisted the help of the Illinois State Police and the U.S. Secret Service. On October 10, 2013, Griesemer exchanged dozens of text messages with undercover agents where he again indicated his request and they set up a meeting. He was arrested after authorities set up a meeting with him at a Jerseyville apartment where Griesemer believed he was meeting the minor child. Upon release, he will spend the rest of his life on federal supervised release.
