A Metro East man is sentenced to ten years in prison on child porn charges.  Twenty-nine-year-old William Martin of Collinsville was given the maximum sentence allowed under law.  Investigators say Martin admitted to receiving images of child pornography through a file sharing program.  He must also serve 30 years of supervised release.

Martin entered a guilty plea in March, and must also pay a $1,000 fine and $100 special assessment.   Authorities say they seized two computers from his residence and retrieved the illegal images and videos from the machines.  The prosecution was part of the Department of Justice Project Safe Childhood Program, a nationwide effort started in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child pornography, child sexual exploitation and abuse.
