A man from Alhambra will spend time in jail for trading and collecting child pornography.  35-year-old Robert Godsey was arrested and charged last summer following a raid on rural residence.  The conviction follows a nationwide federal investigation into the production of child pornography.

Federal authorities say they executed a search warrant last July with members of Homeland Security Investigations and recovered a notebook computer from Godsey’s bedroom.  Officials say at the time of the search, Godsey voluntarily admitted to possessing child pornography videos and photographs, and trading them via email over the Internet. He pleaded guilty to the charges last December and Godsey was sentenced last Friday to 210 months in federal prison for receipt, possession and distribution of child pornography.  The case was prosecuted under the federal Project Safe Childhood initiative, which was created in 2006 to combat the issue of child pornography.
