A 36-year-old South Roxana man is facing a possible 5 years in prison if found guilty of threatening a public official. Kevin M. Beasley of the 700 block of Sinclair Avenue was arrested Saturday morning around 5:00 in the 800 block of West Airwood Drive in East Alton. Neighbors say he was banging on doors and causing a disturbance.
A Madison County Sheriff's Deputy located Beasley in the area near the intersection of Stolze Drive and West Airwood, at which time Beasley was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, according to Madison County Sheriff's Lieutenant Kris Tharp.
Tharp says they take these type of threats very seriously, as does the Madison County State's Attorney's office, based on the severity of the charge. Threatening a Public Official is a Class 3 felony. Beasley is being held on $75,000 bond,
