A Madison resident has been found guilty of sexually assaulting two young children. 53-year-old Jerry Sutt could spend the rest of his life in prison when he is sentenced later this year for what Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons called “repulsive” crimes against two young victims.
Sutt was found guilty after a two-day jury trial in Madison County Court of aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated criminal sexual assault following the crime that was committed in September 2014. Sutt represented himself in the trial. Gibbons commended his prosecutors for their work and also gave credit to the two victims who also testified in the case. Sutt will remain in custody until his sentencing in 6-8 weeks.
