A woman from Carrollton has been convicted of stealing mail from her route. 31 year old Abra Albrecht pled guilty to a one-count indictment charging that she had stolen mail that was designated for delivery. Albrecht worked on mail routes from the Hardin and Kampsville post offices.
Federal authorities say Albrecht admitted that while employed by the U.S. Postal Service in those post offices she stole a debit card and used it for her personal gain. Albrecht was caught after video surveillance identified her as she stole the card. She faces up to five years in jail, 3 years supervision and a $250,000 fine when she is sentenced on January 12, 2015.
