The Madison County Board will consider a budget that for the sixth year in a row shows a decrease from the year before.  The budget being brought before the board at its November meeting is for $129,032,013.  Last year’s budget was for $130,317,062.

Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan says the budget represents a property tax levy that is 2.3% lower than the current year.

According to Dunstan, the proposed property tax levy for 2016 will be less than what was levied four years ago.  The budget will be voted on at the board’s November 18th meeting.
