Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan nominated and the board approved in specialm session the appointment of Debbie Ming Mendoza to the position of Madison County Clerk. The job opened up with the election of former clerk Mark Von Nida to the post of Circuit Clerk. Mendoza will fill the remaining two years of the unexpired term.
Dunstan says Mendoza brings more than 40 years of experience in county government to the job.
Mendoza began her career in 1973 as a deputy in the Supervisor of Assessments office. In 1985, she was appointed Chief Deputy in the Assessor’s office, and in 1995 was named Chief County Assessor by the late County Board Chairman Nellie Hagnauer.
