The Madison County Board will consider a budget that for the fifth year in a row shows a slight decrease from the year before. The budget being brought before the board at its November meeting is for $130,317,000. Last year’s budget was for $130,418,000.
Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan says the General Fund Budget has returned to its pre-recession level. According to Dunstan, the proposed property tax levy for 2015 will be one-tenth of one percent lower than the previous year.
