The Illinois Lottery says an employee error was responsible for a recent issue where eight winners had their checks from the lottery bounce due to insufficient funds.  The eight checks, all sent from the Lottery on May 1st, totalled just under ten-thousand dollars, with the biggest check for just over 25-hundred dollars.

Lottery spokesman Mike Lang blamed the problem on an employee who failed to make sure the money for the checks was available before they were cashed.  In December, the state lottery bounced 311 checks for over 150-thousand dollars, and blamed that incident on the failure of an employee to send a computer file to the bank.
