Earlier this summer, voter rolls in Illinois and Arizona were targeted by what is believed to be foreign hackers. Up to 200,000 people in Illinois may have had their information compromised, but local officials say voters in Madison and Jersey counties appear to be safe.

It's reportedly the same story in Madison County, although attempts to reach Madison County Clerk Debbie Ming - Mendoza for confirmation were unsuccessful. The Department of Homeland Security has stated it isn't aware of any specific cyber threat against election-related networks, but has urged officials to examine how to better secure their systems.
