Now that Illinois has joined every other state in the nation in allowing people to carry guns in public, a popular question is "how do I get licensed?" The State Police have six months to come up with standards of training for concealed carry and once that's done, they'll start accepting applications for carry permits, and one local business owner says you might not want to rush right out and take a course.
Scott Pulaski, owner of Piasa Armory, says he has been flooded with inquiries this week, but urges caution.
Pulaski is a certified NRA instructor, and says he will have several other certified NRA instructors available once the rules are clarified. Pulaski says the new law is a good first step, and believes the restrictions will be loosened over time.
