A local farm family isn’t feeling the pinch of fluctuating energy prices this year thanks to a new technology they have installed. A little over a year ago, the Schetter family decided to install a hydronic heat system to provide warmth to their large machine storage shed and shop. An open house is planned for Friday to show off the technology.
Terri Miller, Publicist for the University of Illinois Extension Service, tells The Big Z this technology has potential for anyone who was shocked at propane prices last year.

The system will be on display beginning at 10am Friday. The Schetter farm is located on State Highway 111 about 1½ miles south of Brighton. If you would like to attend, you should register in advance with the U of I – Extension office in Jerseyville by calling 618-498-2913.
