Eight-year-old Jonny Wade of Jerseyville has been fighting a rare form of brain and spinal cancer for about a year. Earlier this week, congressman Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) told Jonny's story on Capital Hill. Davis is a member of the Congressional Childhood Cancer Caucus.
Davis told his constituents Wade was unable to make the trip due to health reasons, but noted Wade consistently tells others "I don't want any other kid to have cancer."

Cancer is the second leading cause of death for children, but only 4% of cancer research funds go toward children's cancer research, according to Davis.
