A local bank has instituted a policy it thinks will keep its customers' money safer. Liberty Bank will not allow most debit card transactions to occur in states other than Illinois and Missouri, unless you let them know when and where you are traveling. Liberty Bank President Dale Blachford says this is a move to help eliminate fraud.
He says the bank was recognized last year as having one of the safest debit card programs in the country. He goes on to say cases of fraud at Liberty are next to nothing, and credits programs like this one coupled with 24-hour card monitoring for the exceptional record.
