The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation gave smart phone users a way to learn about Illinois’ beloved U.S. president through an app called Abe App.
Phyllis Evans, director of membership for the library, demonstrated the application for an audience. “Currently there are six facets to the app. The fact of the day the Abe quiz, contact information, museum and pictures - which is basically a virtual tour of the museum – access to the museum gift shop, website, as well as the high five Abe,”Evans said.
The library partnered with AT&T and received a private donation to create the app. Evans said there are many possibilities for the app.

“It’s something we feel like will be accessible to teachers. A lot of teachers are using the iPads in classrooms today so I do think that you will see it as something of an educational tool,”Evans said.
