It's just about time for the annual Springfest at Godfrey's Lewis & Clark Community College. It is a collaboration between the Student Activities and the Sustainability Department that enables the event to happen. Students will have a chance to mingle with each other and learn more about student clubs and organizations Wednesday from 11am-1pm.
Student Activities is hosting a tug-of-war competition, costume contest, dance contest, sack races and carnival games on the grass outside between the Hatheway Cultural Center and the Enrollment Center. There will also be will free barbecue, a caricaturist, and a psychic, according to Student Activities Coordinator Jared Hennings.
As for the green aspects of the day, the Sustainability Department will be giving away reusable tumblers that can be used to purchase soft drinks at campus dining services at a discount, hosting a recycling drive, doing a raffle, and showing a documentary on sustainability from 1-3 p.m. in the Trimpe Building. You can also bring your used printer cartridges, alkaline batteries and other recyclables to be entered into a raffle. For more information or to learn how to get more involved on campus, call 468-6400.
