The impact Lewis & Clark Community College has had on the community can be measured in many different ways, but dollar signs may be the most impressive. The economic impact the college has on the surrounding area is in the 8-figure range, according to a recent economic impact study that shows a significant increase in the college's regional impact since the last study results were released in 2011.
College President Dr. Dale Chapman says Lewis & Clark adds $338.5-million to the local economy each year through college and graduate spending.
Chapman says the results of the study were compiled by a third party research firm from Idaho. For every $1 of public funds invested in the college, the study shows taxpayers can expect to see a return of $2.40.
