One of the big stories this week is that layoffs of state museum staff and other natural resources employees are on hold. There's not much for them to do. A DNR news release says the Illinois State Museum system and World Shooting and Recreation Complex will close Wednesday.

The release says that's until the courts sort things out. However, the administration previously announced that the 107 employees involved will stay employed until the courts sort things out. The release has DNR spokesman Chris Young's name on it, but, when pressed for an interview or more information, Young referred the inquiry to the governor's office, which – as is its practice – did not respond.
