Illinoisans may soon have a way to make their natural gas bills cheaper. Lawmakers are passing a measure that would allow groups of communities to buy natural gas in bulk. The idea is it would result in cheaper gas bills. State Sen. Don Harmon (D – Oak Park) says it’s worked with other utilities. “As many of you know there has been a real move to permit the municipal aggregation of electric service,” Harmon says. “It’s been real successful in my hometown of Oak Park.”
