Good news for Illinois workers who enjoy using social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter.  Effective January 1st Illinois and California became the fifth and sixth U.S. states to ban employers from demanding their workers - and even potential employees - divulge passwords to their social media sites.

That means workers and would-be employees across Illinois needn't be concerned that their bosses might see potentially embarrassing photos or remarks.  The other states which ban employers from demanding social media passwords are Delaware, Maryland, Michigan and New Jersey.
