The final days in office for Illinois Governor Pat Quinn are here, with the inauguration of a new governor set for next Monday. The Illinois legislature will head to session at least one more time before Quinn completes his final week in office. A special session is set for Thursday.
Quinn will ask lawmakers pass a bill that allows voters to choose the next state comptroller. Judy Baar Topinka died suddenly last month and there was a bit of controversy over who should replace her. Quinn and Attorney General Lisa Madigan think voters should have the final say, but House Speaker Michael Madigan doesn't seem to be on board with that plan.
