Two bridges that carry traffic between Illinois and Missouri will be partially closed on Wednesday, weather permitting. The lane restrictions are needed to conduct the biennial Illinois/Missouri Border Bridge inspections. Engineers from IDOT and MoDOT will be doing walk-through inspections on the Clark Bridge in Alton and the I-270 Chain of Rocks Mississippi River Bridge.
IDOT Engineer Joe Monroe tells The Big Z they don't expect to go in-depth on any of the bridges.

IDOT asks that all motorists be patient, reduce speed, and use additional caution when traveling near this work zone. The westbound right lane of the Chain of Rocks Mississippi River Bridge will be closed Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Then from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. the westbound right lane of the Clark Bridge will be closed.
