Senate Republicans and House Democrats are apparently on the same page when it comes to revenues for next year, and that has at least one local House Republican encouraged. Democrats say the state will bring in about 33-point seven billion dollars. Dwight Kay of Glen Carbon says over the years, the problem hasn't been with the revenue estimate, it has been with the spending number.
The hardest part of building a budget is still ahead. Kay says that since House Republicans have been involved in the budget negotiations, the spending number is down and this year they will be demanding the same.
