Illinois corn and soybean planting is almost finished. Nearly all the corn and two-thirds of the soybeans have emerged. And a majority of the corn and soybeans are in good to excellent condition.
“The temperatures were just one degree above normal, and rainfall was just one one-hundredth of an inch above normal last week,” said Mark Schleusener, state statistician for the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service in Illinois.
