Secretary of State Jesse White says he has unfinished business when it comes to cleaning up Illinois’ roads. White will be 80 years old during the 2014 election cycle but says he’ll be on the ballot for a fifth term. In a weekend appearance on a Chicago television station, White was grilled for supporting embattled State Representative Derrick Smith and Senator Annazette Collins.
Challengers for the office are very likely to use that against White in 2014 but the Secretary says his record should speak for itself. He says voters should judge him on the measure of work he’s done in cleaning up the office, streamlining its operations, and making roads safer.
