A man from Jersey County has been charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping and rape of a woman in St. Louis over the summer. 22-year-old Michael D. Ramsey, who is already behind bars serving time for another crime, was reportedly connected to the St. Louis incident through DNA evidence.
According to a report in the Post Dispatch, authorities say on July 21, a 19-year-old woman was out with a friend at a café in the 3100 block of Olive Street, and when she went to retrieve something from her car, Ramsey approached her. The woman claims he grabbed her by the neck, threatened to kill her if she screamed, and forced her into her car. He allegedly drove her to a nearby alley and raped her, then continued to drive around the city before raping her a second time. Ramsey then took her money, and walked away according to police. He is currently held in an Illinois prison serving a term of three years for aggravated battery from an August sentencing in Madison County. Ramsey is charged in the St. Louis case with two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of sodomy, two counts of sexual abuse, robbery and kidnapping.
