Two Madison County Sheriff's Deputies escaped injury after an alleged attacked by an inmate at the county jail. Police say 28-year-old Justin S. Creasey of the 3,500 block of Humphrey Street in St. Louis was already being held in a segregation unit after having problems with other inmates when he allegedly attacked the deputies on Wednesday afternoon.
The attack came after he allegedly refused to remove paper covering the window to his cell. After opening the cell door to check on Creasy, the inmate allegedly threw an unidentified liquid at the deputies. Madison County Sheriff's Captain Mike Dixon says Creasey then attacked the deputies and stabbed one deputy in the back of the head with the pencil. Creasy then grabbed a second deputy in a head lock, knocking his glasses off, and caused an abrasion to his face.
The deputy who was stabbed with the pencil sustained a half inch long laceration to the back of his head, and was treated by the jail?s medical staff. Creasy is now charged with two additional charges of aggravated battery, with bond set at $100,000.
