The Nature Institute and The Alton Symphony Orchestra are teaming for the second consecutive year for In Harmony With Nature, a night that combines music with the sounds of nature. The event actually starts at 4 pm Saturday with an open house and cocktail hour at the Talahi Lodge that lasts until 6pm when the orchestra will perform a live concert that lasts until dusk.
Performances by the Alton Symphony will include a pair of waltzes by Strauss, “The Blue Danube” and “The Emperor Waltz,” as well as Grofe (Gro-fay)'s Mississippi Suite.
ASO President Jerre Honke says that this just something you can't miss.
Honke also says that you will need to bring a lawn chair or blanket because there is no fixed seating located where the concert will be held.
The night will also feature a selection of food from Gentelin's including small appetizers, shrimp cocktails and desserts that will be part of an all you can eat buffet.
Tickets for the event are $20 for TNI members and $25 for non members, children 12 and under get in for free. The price for the all you can eat buffet is expected to be between $10-$12.
