Impact CIL is announcing cuts in light of the continuing budget stalemate in Springfield. Starting Friday, February 5, the offices on Broadway in Alton will be closed. According to the agency, that will result in a 20% decrease of salary and individual services to their consumers.
Executive Director Cathy Contarino tells The Big Z Impact CIL saves the state money by assisting individuals with disabilities to live in the community instead of nursing homes or institutions.

As the budget has not been approved for the current fiscal year, which is now 7 months old, Contarino says their organization is owed over $100,000.
