It’s hot and dry, and it will likely be that way for a while.  Chris Miller, warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Lincoln, says if the weather continues this way, the “D” word might come back. “You might hear the word drought again,” says Miller, “just on the moderate level. There is moderate drought across parts of Iowa, northern Missouri and that is expanding into Illinois.”
