The Illinois Department of Transportation is taking public comment on plans for three rail crossings that will be upgraded as part of the process of bringing High Speed Rail to Illinois. The meeting, held this week at the Godfrey Knights of Columbus Hall, included project exhibits, a brief presentation, and a chance to talk to IDOT officials.
IDOT spokesman Scott Speegle tells The Big Z the three crossings in question - Alby Street in Godfrey, and at crossings at Terpening Road and David Lane in Jersey County – are challenging intersections to make safe.
