All of the state routes the Illinois Department of Transportation expects to flood have been closed at this point. Illinois Route 100 from the flour mill in Alton all the way to Pearl has been closed, according to an IDOT engineer.
But Joe Monroe tells The Big Z there is some good news.

He says after the waters recede they will need to check the roads for debris and damage. Monroe says crews will walk the road and look for any changes. If there is any washout along the roadway, he says that would be cause for concern.
