A portion of Route 3 in Godfrey was damaged in last weeks heavy rain, and flash flooding. The portion of Route 3, also known as Delmar Avenue is being looked at by Illinois Department of Transportation Engineers to preserve drainage patterns and stay in compliance with Illinois drainage laws.

Emergency Management officials ask that in the next flooding event to "Turn Around, Don't Drown" as just a foot of water can float a car and two feet of rushing water can sweep away most vehicles.
