Tomorrow will mark the 40th anniversary of the Alton Fall Historic House Tour, and there will be a number of returning stops on the tour, as well as the first foray into the Fairmont Subdivision. The Levis Mansion is located on Danforth, and has a unique story, as do the other homes, including the Calvin House on Christian Hill, and three from Middletown.
Alton Area Landmarks Association member Monica Mason says it is a self-guided tour, but they have a suggested route to make the travel across town a bit easier.
Tickets are $12 per person, and are avaliable at the Alton Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the Hart House at 524 Belle Street, and at the corner of 4th and Henry streets. The tour is sponsored by the Alton Area Landmarks Association, and will run from noon-5pm. For more information, log on to this story at AltonDailyNews.com
