You could be working on a highway construction crew by the time the weather warms again after completing a new course offered by Lewis & Clark Community College.  The Highway Construction Careers Training Program is taking applications and will be testing every Monday afternoon, beginning next month at the college’s Community Learning Center in Alton.

Lewis and Clark Director of Adult Education Val Harris says now is the time to start thinking about getting signed up.

A stipend will be awarded to accepted students while they attend the program.  Harris says job placement opportunities include laborers, equipment operators, ironworkers, carpenters, cement masons, electricians, pipefitters, plumbers and painters.  For more information on the training, call 468-4101.
