A Highland man has been sentenced to six years in prison after being indicted on child pornography charges earlier this month. The United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois reports that 39-year old Daniel C. Shaw was sentenced to serve 72 months in prison on each of the two counts listed in the indictment.  Authorities allege that Shaw posed as a sixteen year old boy and exchanged explicit messages and photographs with numerous females who were minors between January 2011 and September 2012.


In addition the concurrent prison term, Shaw will also serve 10 years of supervised release, a $500 fine and a $200 special assessment.
