A storm system that is working its way across the Western United States is expected to be a major weather-maker for us this week. Beginning sometime tomorrow, the National Weather Service is telling us to be ready for several waves of heavy rain that could measure 7 inches or more in some spots.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Jayson Gosselin tells The Big Z flooding is a possibility as the system draws moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.

The National Weather Service reminds soil moisture across the region is above average, while local rivers and creeks are at near normal levels and flow. The lack of vegetation typical of winter increases the potential for runoff from excessive rainfall.
