The 95th edition of the Alton Halloween Parade once again brought out residents from across the region as thousands lined Broadway from Washington to Piasa. Dozens of groups participated, lead by parade marshall, former Alton Alderman and longtime parade judge, Phil Hanrahan and his family. Z-1570 broadcast the event live last night.
That's the Alton High Marching 100, which served as the first musical act in the parade that also included the Middle School Band, the band from Southwestern High School and the U Can't Beat Experience Jazz Band. Winners for best float this year...in the Junior Youth Category: Alton Middle School. In the Senior Youth Category: Catholic Children's Home. In the Family and Neighborhood Category: the Wunderlich Family. For Clubs and Organizations: The Fuzzy Hat Club. And in the Commercial division: Orthopedic and Sports Medicine.
