The East Alton Rotary Club is joining with Habitat for Humanity to host a workday on Thursday. There is a new home under construction in Roxana, and Rotary members will meet at noon for lunch, and then get to work on the house at 132 E. Third Street.
Mark Allison is a member of the East Alton Rotary Club and is also the construction coordinator for the Habitat for Humanity Wood River Chapter. He tells the Big Z work on the Habitat house is progressing nicely.

With Habitat for Humanity, the family must provide work on the home they will receive, and when it’s completed, will then have to pay an interest free mortgage. The new owner will also be responsible for all utilities, taxes and the upkeep that comes with home ownership.
