Curbing tragedies like the recent mass shooting in Orlando is the aim of new gun legislation in the Illinois House. The goal is to keep guns out of the hands of suspected terrorists. If someone on the terror watch list tries to get a FOID Card, the State Police would alert the FBI.
Those on the list that already have a FOID Card would have them revoked, according to State Representative Greg Harris (D-Chicago). He says this is just a first step in improving public safety.

The bill also requires more police training on FOID Cards, Concealed Carry, and firearm investigations.
