An Alton man has pleaded guilty to his role in the heroin overdose of a friend. 21-year-old Glenn P. Lowers admitted in federal court to selling heroin to Joshua S. Shelton on September 3, 2013. Shelton's body was discovered by his grandfather a few hours after the sale.
An autopsy determined Shelton died from injecting heroin. He was 21-years-old at the time of his death. Lowers pleaded guilty to a federal charge of Distribution of Heroin Involving Death. He will be sentenced February 5, 2015. He could face 20 years if sentenced to the maximum penalty.
