A Glen Carbon man is facing up to 40 years in prison and up to $500,000 in fines after pleading guilty to receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography charges last week. 54-year old Arlynn G. Georgeson entered that plea Friday following an investigation that revealed more than 16,000 images and more than 500 videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on his personal computer.

Georgeson admitted to downloading the images and videos through a file sharing program on his computer and that he later sent them to undercover FBI agents in separate states through that program in September of 2011.

Sentencing has been scheduled for October 1.
