A Glen Carbon man is facing charges after police broke up an alleged marijuana grow operation at his home. 49 year old Rhett Chronister of the first block of Grainey Drive is charged with unauthorized production or possession of marijuana plants, although police originally went to his home on another warrant.
Police searched his residence last week on a warrant for suspicion of child pornography possession, but no charges have been filed in connection with that warrant. During the search, police say they discovered an area of the home that was covered by a tarp, but the homeowner declined to allow consent to search the porch. Police then obtained a search warrant for that area and reportedly found marijuana plants, grow lights, plant food and other paraphernalia. Chronister’s bond was set at $20,000.
