The Stop Concealed Carry Coalition wants Attorney General Lisa Madigan to appeal a ruling which will allow people to carry guns in public. Organizer Lee Goodman says concealed carry puts the public in harm's way.
A U.S. Appeals court has ordered the state to draft a law allowing concealed carry within the next six months. Goodman says the ruling fails to address public safety and fails to protect people from stray bullets. The coalition plans to keep pressing lawmakers, asking them to vote against any such measure and, they urge people across the state to do the same. They've posted an online petition at SignOn.org. More than seven thousand people have signed the petition.
