You are invited to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Alton's Grassroots Grocery. Grassroots Grocery is a non-profit grocery store in Alton that operates as a co-op located in what had been an area with no grocery stores a year ago.
Grassroots Grocery co-founder Christine Favilla tells The Big Z reaching the one year mark is significant.

The produce sold in the store is coming from local vendors. Grassroots Grocery is open to the public, however they do offer a discount to members who join the co-op. Grassroots Grocery is located at 415 Ridge Street. The anniversary will be celebrated this Sunday, August 28 at 3pm at the store. There will be a vendor meet-and-greet, games, and door prizes, as well as a slide-show to look back on the first year.
